Punjab govt Launches Mobile App for Ayushman Bharat Mukh Mantri Sehat Bima Yojana

The Punjab government has made a notable advancement in enhancing healthcare accessibility through the introduction of the State Health Agency Punjab mobile application. On December 31, 2024, Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh launched this Android-based app, which allows citizens to verify their eligibility for the Ayushman Bharat Mukh Mantri Sehat Bima Yojana (ABMMSBY) and obtain information regarding empaneled hospitals.
This innovative application offers a convenient platform for users to ascertain their eligibility for the state’s primary health insurance initiative directly from their mobile devices. Additionally, it provides a comprehensive list of both public and private hospitals that are authorized to deliver services under the scheme.
The app is designed to serve 1.68 crore eligible citizens, with 88 lakh individuals having already registered for their e-cards.
The Ayushman Bharat Mukh Mantri Sehat Bima Yojana, initiated by the government led by Bhagwant Singh Mann, extends coverage to a broader range of beneficiaries beyond those included in the central Ayushman Bharat scheme.
“This initiative is distinctive as it encompasses beneficiaries such as J-form farmers, small traders, holders of Smart Ration Cards, construction workers registered with the Labor Board, and accredited journalists, thereby supporting nearly 45 lakh families.”
In the past, citizens were required to visit government hospitals or common service centers to verify their eligibility. The introduction of this app allows them to complete the process from the convenience of their homes.
Citizens are encouraged to download the app, create their e-cards, and fully utilize the benefits of the scheme. The minister highlighted that this initiative is in line with the government’s commitment to making healthcare more accessible, efficient, and user-friendly.
