Govt approves sewerage projects under National Mission for Clean Ganga for Uttar Pradesh

The Central Government has approves a project valued at 272 crore rupees for the regions of Chandauli and Manikpur in Uttar Pradesh, as part of the National Mission for Clean Ganga.
During the 59th Executive Committee meeting of the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG), which was presided over by Director-General Rajeev Kumar Mital, several projects aimed at the conservation and revitalization of the Ganga River were approved.
Initiatives
These initiatives are designed to enhance cleanliness, promote sustainable development, and safeguard the environmental and cultural importance of the river.
In a notable advancement for river conservation in Buxar, Bihar, the committee has also endorsed a significant project with an investment of 257 crore rupees.
This initiative includes the construction of a modern Sewage Treatment Plant with a capacity of 50 million litres per day, along with necessary supporting infrastructure.
